1959 Renaissance Chess

New, Mint, Still in Shrink Wrap... since 1959!! For that reason alone, this is perhaps the most rare item in my collection.
When this set was originally sold in stores beginning in 1959, the top was removable so customers could see the chess set inside. The lid, board and instructions were sold loose, only the pieces inside were done up in shrink wrap. It's as if I took a little shopping trip in time to bring back this MINT set.
