Chess in the Round™

This is a fun and challenging variation and lots of fun to play. Because pieces can orbit around from behind, you have to be extra careful when considering your moves.

The board is a tournament style roll-up plastic mat. It comes with two sets of chessmen, so you'll have some extras. It comes with two sets because your defense requires 16 pawns each. Instructions are included but I would recommend this game for more advanced players who are already comfortable with traditional chess.

I have to admit I'm not a big fan of the cheap-o chessmen that come with Chess in the Round. It's my thing about cool vintage chessmen. So after a lot of hunting and research I finally got my hands on TWO sets of Drueke's red and ivory Set No. 23.

There, isn't that better?
