All The King's Men™

1979, Parker Brothers

Truly a unique chess-inspired game. I think it was intended for children who are too young for chess, but trust me, adults have a fun time with this one as well.

The rules are simple. You have a King, 4 Knights and 7 Archers. Kings and Archers can move one space at a time, Knights can move any number of spaces but they must be in a straight line. The direction of movement, and this is the fun part, is determined by the arrows the piece happens to be standing on when it moves. The first to capture his opponent's King is the winner.

Why is it that the really GOOD games always seem to disappear into the attic? Parker Brothers, if you're reading this, start selling AKM again! It's fantastic! Eight out of Ten stars; the only improvement I'd make would be to have the pieces look a little more different from one another and maybe a bit bigger.
