Mozy.com
This is going to be a very short blog. Sorry, but I've been moving, unpacking, working, and trying to spend some time on a few of my artsy projects. This is just a quickie I wanted to get out there in case anyone is googling for a (here come the keywords) negative review of security on mozy.com file backup off-site online service.
Mozy sounded like a great idea at first. Sign up, get some free space, keep your shit safe in case your drive crashes or your home burns or whatever. Neat.
Here's where my assesment of Mozy gets really bad really quickly. The first thing I had to do was sign up. Simply clicking "sign up" generated THIS error message:
That is a 100% real and un-edited screen shot. All I did was crop it down to a smaller size to cut off things you don't need to see. I shit you not. If I can't even sign up securely I sure as fuck wouldn't keep the least of my private documents there.
Bullshit. Just thought you should know...
